Congratulations to the (5) Kishwaukee Kougar men’s sophomores that have signed letters of intent to 4-year colleges & universities. All five sophomores were starters on last season’s 16-15 team that made it to the Region IV semi-finals and placed 3rd in the Arrowhead Athletic Conference. 6’ 6” forward Brice Powell who was awarded 1st Team All-Arrowhead Conference as well as 1st Team All-Region will be headed to Missouri Western University where he will be playing alongside another former Kougar in 2010 NJCAA All-American Lavonte Douglas(2010). 6’ 4” forward Travis Scott who also was named to the 2nd Team All-Arrowhead Conference & 2nd Team All-Region will be playing at Langston University. Joining Travis at Langston University will be 5’ 11” guard & teammate Emil Clayton who was awarded with 1st Team All-Region IV Tournament this last season. Travis & Emil will also join two other former Kougar’s at Langston University in Modteets Williams(2010) and Nate Barfield(2009). Starting point guard and co-team captain 5’ 10” Dekalb HS graduate Jon Umoren has signed with Iowa Wesleyan College after leading the Arrowhead Conference in assists last season with 7apg. Another Dekalb HS grad 6’ 4” guard/forward and co-team captain Grant Olsen will be playing for Rockford College next season. Including these five players from the Class of 2011 will now make 30 total players that have moved onto 4-year schools to continue their basketball careers under Head Coach Rob Buss’ 8-year tenure at Kishwaukee College.
2010-2011 Player Awards:
Congratulation to Brice Powell, Travis Scott, & Emil Clayton for receiving All-Conference & All-Region awards for the 2010-2011 men’s basketball season. Brice Powell 6’ 6” sophomore forward (Wauwatosa HS) was awarded both 1st Team All-Arrowhead Conference & 1st Team All-Region IV Honors for his play this season for Kishwaukee. Brice led the team in scoring by averaged 13.8 points per game and also led the Kougars in rebounding with 12.1 rebounds per game for the Kougars. Brice ranked 3rd in the NJCAA in rebounding this season and also sits 6th on the All-Time single season rebounding list for Kishwaukee College.
Travis Scott 6’ 4” sophomore forward (Hillcrest HS) was also awarded both 2nd Team All-Arrowhead Conference & 2nd Team All-Region IV Honors this year for the Kougars. PressFormer PG & All-Time Assist Leader Adrian Thomas Signs Pro Contract
Adrian Thomas (Kishwaukee College Men’s Basketball 2008-2010) is the new point guard for Team 08 Stockholm. He is a pure point guard and just graduated from Missouri Western University. We have looked for a leader, strong passer, good 3-point shooter, strong defensive player, diligent work ethic and the right character as our new point guard and Adrian has these qualities. He will join the team at some time in September, not yet determined. The team currently, has 10 players under contract and hopefully the two remaining spots will be filled shortly. It remains to be determined but they could be some real interesting names. Welcome to the 08 Stockholm Adrian!
