Dental Assisting

Program Information

This 60-hour course prepares students for entry-level positions in Dental Assisting. This course covers the following key areas and topics. Administrative Aspects include: history; legal aspects; policies and guidelines. Clinical Aspects include: intro to oral anatomy; dental operatory; dental equipment, intro to tooth structure; primary and permanent teeth; the oral cavity and related structures; proper patient positioning; dental hand-pieces; and sterilization. In addition to entry-level administrative jobs, this course is ideal for students interested in pursuing a future formal Dental Hygienist program. Note: There is no state or national certification objective with this course. Cost includes textbook which you receive the first evening of class.
