Center for Business Development and Continuing Education

The Center for Business Development and Continuing Education serves all business, industry and community members with education, training, professional development and personal enrichment classes and workshops.

Business Development is the arm of the Center which is designed to assist local business and industry that compete in a global market, through evaluative services and customized training.  Whatever you need to keep your company and employees competitive in today’s global economy, the professional staff in Business Development can provide the workshop, seminar, or training to keep you heading for continuous quality and development. The staff in Business Development can arrange your customized training either at your work site or on the Kishwaukee College campus.

Under Business Development, Kishwaukee College offers a complete Truck Driver Training Program.  Offered in 4 and 8 week formats, trainees learn in a combination classroom and hands-on curriculum, practicing their on-the-road skills in a full-sized Kishwaukee College semi-trailer training rig.

Continuing Education focuses on the needs of community residents.  Continuing Education offers classes that provide opportunities for professional growth, personal enrichment, computer skill training, and even preparation for professional careers in the a variety of health fields, real estate, the music industry and business.  Classes are offered on campus and throughout the district in the local communities for easy access. Plus, Continuing Education offers a wide array of online course options, making taking a class for personal or professional reasons even easier to fit into your busy schedule. For local educators, Continuing Education offers a variety of courses—traditional format and online—that can be used to fulfill state mandated CPDU and CEU requirements.

Many classes, seminars, and workshops offered through the Center for Business Development and Continuing Education are held in the beautiful Kishwaukee College Conference Center. The Conference Center includes a 285-seat fully multi-media capable Jenkins Auditorium; a 75-seat fully multi-media capable tiered training room; a large presentation room with six connected break-out rooms; a 285-seat capacity dining room with attached buffet room and full-catering kitchen.  The facilities include a check-in area under a rotunda with full-sized windows allowing in natural light.  The Conference Center also has full wi-fi capabilities.
