If you are the first of your family to attend college, our NEW Scheduling page contains window schedule sheets that may be used in conjunction with our program planner sheets to help you set your schedules each semester. You should confirm your schedule with a guidance counselor or academic advisor before registration to allow them to check your work!
The program has three aspects that make it stand apart from other community college programs in the state, nation and world;
- It teaches manual drafting methods with CAD methods.
- It offers both architectural and mechanical instruction.
- It instrutcts in two major CAD software programs.
The Kishwaukee College CAD Technology Program has plans to regularly offer two online CAD courses in the spring semester (January-May) each year as follows:
CAD221 Descriptive Geometry
CAD231 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Students in these three credit courses will have the option of participating in the course online, on campus, or a combination of both. Students will be able to complete their drawing assignments in CAD or on a drawing table but students who do their work on the drawing table will have to snail mail their work to instructor Schwendau, weekly, at their own expense. More information is on the News page of this website. You can learn more about online instruction HERE!
A final unusual aspect to the program is it boasts one of, if not the, first CAD program websites on the Internet and regularly ranks tops in major Internet search engines with a search string of "college+CAD" or "CAD+college". This program went online in September of 1998 and has since demonstrated some of the most advanced uses of the web in the area of CAD. Check out our Gallery!
