The program has an outstanding reputation with employers of the midwest and regularly has more Jobs than it can produce graduates to fill them. Students are regularly employed before they complete their studies.
This program is known for having students complete design Projects as part of their course requirements. Students are encouraged to compete in state and national design contests where they uphold an outstanding reputation of accomplishment.

Recently, the Kishwaukee College CAD Technology program started a new focus of preparing teacher candidates for transfer to both Illinois State University and Southern Illinois University to meet a technology teacher shortage that is approaching a crisis.

A final unusual aspect to the program is it boasts one of, if not the, first CAD program websites on the Internet and regularly ranks tops in major Internet search engines with a search string of "college+CAD" or "CAD+college".
