Learning Skills Center (LSC)
The Learning Skills Center at Kishwaukee College provides academic support for all full- and part-time Kishwaukee College students. Students must have their Kishwaukee College I.D. to use the LSC's services. I.D.s are available in the Kishwaukee College Library.
Please note: The LSC will close on Thursday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m. and on May 16, the LSC will be open from 8-12.

Tutoring
Tutoring is regularly available in the following academic areas: mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, accounting, English, reading, and Spanish. One-on-one assistance in study skills is also available. Tutoring schedules are available in the Learning Skills Center, as well as on our web page. The tutoring service is free, and no appointment is necessary.
The Writing Center (A-306)
The Writing Center answers all of your writing-related questions regardless of the class or assignment. No appointment is necessary, and students can get help individually or in small groups. Also available are workshop opportunities for any size group.
Fall and Spring Semesters
Monday, Wednesday: 3:30- 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. & 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Thursday: 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Computer Lab
The Center has a 12-station open computer lab. All machines are Windows PCs and run a variety of programs, including Netscape, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Word and Excel. In addition, several tutorials to enhance classroom performance are also available, including Derive. No food or drinks are allowed in the lab. The lab is open during regular Learning Skills Center hours.
Testing
Placement tests, as well as coursework exams, are administered and proctored by Learning Skills Center staff. Daily testing hours are 8 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Evening testing times are announced at the beginning of each term.
Students wishing to take placement exams must schedule an appointment in Counseling and Student Development, room U-148. Students taking coursework exams must present a photo I.D. before the exam will be administered. Students who are taking tests must lock all their possessions in the lockers provided in the LSC; this includes coats, backpacks, cell phones, ipods, pagers, and purses.
