Degree Options

Program Information

As an Automated Engineering Tech student, you will learn about the manufacturing process, drafting, blueprints and schematics, and trade-specific skills. You can pursue a specific area within the field with one of two Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees:

  1. Automated Engineering Technology/Computer Numerical Control (CNC). The CNC degree will prepare you to work in industry as a machinist/toolmaker using computer information systems programs to produce the tool or die.
  2. Manufacturing Technology/Tool and Die. The Tool and Die degree will prepare you to assume the duties of the traditional tool and die specialist.

Occupational Information

Manufacturing plays such a key role in economic growth and development that sometimes the industry and all it produces is taken for granted. Automated Engineering Technology professionals are responsible for keeping production up and orders filled on time. They include toolmakers and designers, mechanical drafters, and production engineering aides—the men and women that keep the industry working.
