There
are two ways to sell back books at the Kishwaukee College Bookstore.
- All semester
- End of Semester buy-back during the week of finals.
All semester, the Bookstore buys back books from
students to go to a used book wholesaler. The Bookstore uses a buying guide
that is furnished by the wholesaler.
At the end of each semester, in conjunction with the
semester exam schedule, the Bookstore features a buy-back.
- The Bookstore pays up to one-half (½) the original price of any current
textbook from the semester ending that is in good condition and will be used
again on this campus. The
Bookstore will purchase at one-half price only the number that they will
need. If a book is going into a new edition or is in a new edition, but is
currently being used here, the buy-back prices will vary.
- Study
guides and solution manuals need to be clean (not written in) and in good
condition to be bought back.
- The Bookstore may not always
buy back books with disks, books with tear-out pages, or a workbook type
book. In many cases CDÕs must be
included with a textbook to receive the buy-back price.
- The
Bookstore cannot give out buyback pricing over the phone due to the fact that
amounts offered are also dependent on the condition of the book and certain
limits may apply. To receive cash
for your books please bring them in. No receipt is required for buyback.
Watch for dates and times on the buy-back signs posted
in each wing approaching the end of each semester. Buy-back is not only good for the student selling the book,
but it gives another student the opportunity to purchase a used book. Hope to see you at the Bookstore's side
door!
