Telecourses offer students the ability to access credited courses with more flexibility and convenience. Telecourses offer students the freedom to take classes at home. Class materials are on videotapes or DVDs and have textbooks that support the subject matter. Students only need to come to campus for an orientation, tests, or to meet with the instructor. A syllabus is distributed to the students at the orientation. An instructor is available for each telecourse to aid students; therefore, students are encouraged to attend a one-time required orientation and contact the instructor with questions related to course content.
Videotapes and DVDs pertaining to the telecourse are available in Media Services for either viewing there, or they may be checked out for 48 hours. Videotapes and DVDs can also be checked out by the semester from Media Services.

Interactive Televised Courses
What are Interactive Televised Courses?
Kishwaukee students can earn credits in selected classes broadcast between Kishwaukee College and other colleges. Classes are conducted via two-way interactive television in rooms A249 and A251.
When Kishwaukee College is the receiving site, students watch live, interactive televised broadcasts of courses from other sites. Students and the instructor see and hear each other, exchange ideas, view video or notes, and interact as they would in any regular classroom course. When Kishwaukee College is the origination site, the same learning activities take place, but the instructor is in the Kishwaukee classroom.
For additional information about Televised Interactive Classes, contact Susan Andracke at 825-2086, ext. 369.
SHARED CLASSES
The following classes originate and are taught by instructors at other institutions, but have been approved to receive Kishwaukee credits. Register as you would for any Kishwaukee class but follow the academic calendar of the originating institution. Pay Kishwaukee tuition/fees and receive credits for classes from Kishwaukee College. (Labs, if any, are held at the originating institution). Textbooks are available in the Kishwaukee Bookstore.
Attend classes in Room A251 at Kishwaukee College.
