Athletics
Intercollegiate Athletics (NJCAA)
In its intercollegiate athletic program, the College sponsors basketball, baseball, and soccer for men; volleyball, basketball, tennis, and softball for women; and golf for men and women. Kishwaukee's teams compete in the Arrowhead Conference, which is comprised of Highland Community College, Black Hawk College, Black Hawk College East Campus, Carl Sandburg College, Illinois Valley, Sauk Valley College, and Kishwaukee College.
Kishwaukee is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Regional winners are advanced for national competition. Students interested in participating in intercollegiate athletics should contact the Athletic Department at (815) 825-2086, Ext. 538.
Intramurals
KC’s intramural athletic program is for students and staff. A variety of events are offered each year based upon student interest and past successful activities. Awards are presented to team champions and individuals. Those interested in team sports can initiate their own teams. General Interest Clubs
Black Student Union
The Black Student Union (BSU) is open to all students interested in contributing to and benefiting from activities sponsored by the BSU. Activities include providing support for all students, especially students of color, helping to solve problems encountered by being a student, informing students about college resources, and sponsoring social events. Forensics Team
This team is based on active preparation and competition in intercollegiate forensics. Encouragement and support is provided for students to participate in intercampus and community entertainment. For additional information, contact the Speech Department at (815) 825-2086, Ext. 546.
Green Club
The Green Club is for individuals interested in wildlife and wildlife protection, environmental preservation, and conservation. Activities include field trips, recycling efforts, promotion of a sound use of the environment, and participation/planning of Earth Day activities. International Student Association
The International Student Association is open to all Kishwaukee students and staff. Its purpose is to bring together people from different cultural backgrounds to foster a better understanding of cultures and a better acceptance of all people. Kamelian
The Kamelian is the college’s literary magazine. Published every spring, it contains student work in the areas of art, photography, poetry, and prose. K.C. Players
This club is open to anyone who has an interest in theatre. K.C. Players provides an opportunity for members to increase their skill and knowledge of the theatre by participation in campus productions. Trips to area theatre productions also are planned. Kishwaukee College Mudslingers
The KC Mudslingers promote awareness of ceramists and provide extra curricular activities for students and faculty including charitable sales and fund-raising. For more information, contact the Art Department at (815) 825-2086, Ext. 561.
Kishwaukee Kougarettes
As Kishwaukee’s dance team, the Kougarettes provide entertainment through dance and performance at College sporting events. For more information, contact the College Transfer Center at (815) 825-2086, Ext. 591.
Kishwaukee Kaleidoscope
The All-American student newspaper staff is open to all students including those with no previous experience. The paper, which has a circulation of about 1,800, is a member of the Illinois Community College Journalism Association (ICCJA). Latinos Unidos
Latinas, Latinos, and those interested in Latino/Hispanic cultures have come together to form this organization. Its goals include serving as a support system for members and the Latino/Hispanic community, involvement with campus-wide activities, programming cultural events, and promoting awareness of the various Latino/Hispanic cultures. Rotaract
Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30.
Through the Rotaract program, young adults not only augment their knowledge and skills, but they also address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service. This past year, the Kishwaukee chapter of Rotaract raised $1,000 for a well to bring water to a community in Mozambique.
All Rotaract efforts begin at the local grassroots level and all Rotaract clubs have access to the many resources of Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation.
As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 7,600 Rotaract clubs in some 158 countries, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.

Honors Organization
Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of two-year colleges was founded in 1918. Objectives of the organization are to recognize and foster scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and service activities. Eligibility is based on completion of at least 12 semester hours at the 100/200 level; a grade point average of at least 3.5 in those courses; and current enrollment in at least three semester hours in 100/200 level courses.

Student Government
Student Association
The Kishwaukee Student Association is the officially recognized student representative group within the College. Its committees are responsible for addressing the concerns of students, providing programs and services for students, chartering campus clubs and organizations, and assisting these groups in achieving their goals. The Association's budget is generated from the activity fee that students pay with each class. The Student Association provides a communication channel between students, faculty, and administration by serving as representatives on various administrative committees.

Vocational-Career Clubs
Agriculture Club
The Agriculture Club is open to all students interested in any aspect of the agriculture industry. Its primary purpose is to promote an exploration of careers in agriculture and to provide a social outlet for those interested in agriculture. American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD)
AIFD works to maintain and advance standards of professional floral design and decoration; to uphold, in practice, a code of ethics of mutual benefit in both professional and trade relations; to promote educational programs to advance the creative art of floral design and decoration; and to support high standards of design and quality of materials and products. Golf Course Superintendents of America, Student Chapter
This organization is open to all students in golf course management, providing them with information about career directions and the credentials needed to become a golf course superintendent. It also promotes an avenue for an exchange of information and ideas between students and golf course professionals. Horticulture Club
This club is open to anyone who has an interest in ornamental horticulture. Students engage guest speakers and sponsor social functions funded with revenues from club projects such as making corsages and Christmas wreaths for faculty and college functions. Kishwaukee Aviators
The purpose of the Kishwaukee Aviators Club at Kishwaukee College shall be the promotion of Aviation, real-life experience, and the cultivation of fellowship among aspiring pilots at Kishwaukee College.
Nurses Christian Fellowship
The Nurses Christian Fellowship assists nurses, nursing students, and other interested students in meeting the spiritual, psychosocial, and physical needs of persons in crisis. Specific activities are planned to enhance personal and professional goals. Opportunities are also available for Christian fellowship and growth. Society of Physics Students
The goal of the Society of Physics Students is to advance members’ knowledge of physics with hands-on scientific experimentation of quantifiable physical phenomenon. For more information, contact the Physics Department at (815) 825-2086, Ext. 207.
Student Nurse Organizations I & II
These clubs are for students enrolled in levels I and II of the Nursing Program. Objectives include the promotion of nursing as a career, completion of projects for the College and community, and sponsorship of social and recreational activities for club members. Student Radiographers Association
Student Radiographers Association is organized to encourage professional involvement in the radiology field, unite radiology students, and organize activities that contribute to the education of students involved in this field of study. SkillsUSA
SkillsUSA is a national organization serving more than 264,500 high school and college students and professional members enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health occupations. It emphasizes total quality at work, high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education and pride in the dignity of work.
