On your time, at your pace, and online
The web is opening a new world to many that may not have the time, money or transportation to attend college courses. Students who enroll in online classes are not required to travel to campus. Their course materials, discussions, assignments, tests, and more, are available via an Internet connection. While convenient, online courses are not for everyone. Those most successful in these courses are proficient at time management, able to work independently, and are comfortable with technology. In addition, online students must have access to an Internet link that meets the technical requirements of the course.
About Online/Hybrid/Enhanced Courses
There are several different classifications of how the College offers Internet-based instruction. If you have any questions about a specific online or a hybrid course, please contact the instructor.
An online course takes place entirely on the Internet in an online classroom environment with no required visits to the College campus. An online course will be identified in the course schedule as Online for the Meeting Time (Place).
A hybrid course takes place in both a traditional on-campus classroom and on the Internet in an online classroom environment with required visits to the College campus (and sometimes off-campus) which are determined by the specific course. These required visits are listed in the course schedule and during the first meeting time of class. A hybrid course will be identified in the course schedule as Hybrid for the Meeting Time (Place) along with dates and times for required meetings.
An enhanced course takes place entirely in a traditional on-campus classroom with the instructor offering supplemental materials and resources on the Internet in an online classroom environment. An enhanced course will not be identified in the course schedule as the use thereof is at the discretion of the instructor. Not all instructors use enhanced supplemental materials for their courses.
