Adjunct Faculty (KCAEA) Benefits

Tuition Waivers: The College will waive tuition in the amounts specified in the Adjunct Faculty CBA for Kishwaukee College credit courses for employees, spouses and dependent children under age 25.

Four-Day Summer Work Week: The College adopts a four-day summer work week beginning the Monday following Spring Commencement and continuing for 12 weeks.

Paid Time Off: Adjunct faculty members who teach less than three days per week shall be granted two paid personal leave (PTO) days per semester. Members who teach three or more days per week shall receive three personal leave days per semester. Adjuncts who teach three or more contact hours during the summer term shall receive two paid PTO days. Unused personal leave days shall be non-cumulative. See KCAEA collective bargaining agreement for details.

Term Life Insurance: Adjunct Faculty completing at least one teaching assignment during the academic year, who are covered by the KCAEA Collective Bargaining Agreement, and choosing to purchase life insurance are eligible for reimbursement by the College up to $60 per academic year.

Retirement: State law requires Adjunct Faculty to join the State Universities Retirement System (SURS). For more information, visit https://surs.org/. 

Deferred Compensation Plans: The College offers 403(b) and 457 tax-deferred annuity plans.
