Professional Development Opportunities
Professional Development Days are designated time for faculty and staff to collectively participate in activities to enhance skills, knowledge and effectiveness in their roles. These days are typically structured to provide a mix of training, workshops, presentations and networking opportunities.
Supervisor Forums are designed training for individuals in supervisory or managerial roles. Forums provide a platform for supervisors to discuss challenges, share best practices, receive training and collaborate on strategies to improve team performance.
The Innovation Center for Teaching & Learning is a dedicated resource center for Kish faculty to explore best practices in course design, learn about instructional technology, and find webinars and other on-demand professional development opportunities.
Lunch & Learns are informal learning sessions during the traditional lunch hour. These are open to all faculty and staff and provide training in professional or personal skills.
LinkedIn Learning is an online educational platform that offers a vast library of video courses and tutorials. This platform helps individuals and organizations enhance their business, creative, and technology skills to achieve personal and professional goals. All employees and student workers receive a complimentary account to LinkedIn Learning.
Compliance-related training is completed by all employees within the first few weeks of employment, annually, or as frequently as required by law. Trainings include Title IX, Sexual Harassment, Ethics, Cyber Security and more.
Kishwaukee College understands professional development is unique to roles and job responsibilities. Employees are encouraged to work with their supervisor to discuss and identify any additional professional development opportunities to advance skills and gain experience.
