                        IL High School Equivalency

Community residents who have not earned a high school diploma can test to obtain their
Illinois High School Equivalency (HSE). Illinois accepts three exams for high school
equivalency, with the most well know and what Kishwaukee College tests is the GED®
exam. For more information on local GED® exam testing, visit the DeKalb County Regional Office of Education web page. The State of Illinois also requires a passing score on the U.S./Illinois Constitution

The U.S. and Illinois Constitution Test

The State of Illinois requires all persons who receive the Illinois High School Equivalency
certificate to pass the Illinois State Constitution Test. Those who did not meet this
requirement while in high school must complete an online lesson and quiz to satisfy
the requirement. You must complete at least one official GED® test prior to completing
                              the Constitution lesson.

Completing the following online lesson at https://ilconstitution.org/ will satisfy the Illinois Constitution requirement to receive a State of Illinois
High School Diploma. At the end of the lesson, you will be asked to provide information
so that completion of this requirement can be connected to your high school equivalency
testing (GED®). Please also print or save a copy of the certificate created at the
end of the lesson to use as proof of completion. This certificate must be presented
to the Regional Office of Education for the student’s county of residence to satisfy
this requirement. Any person who passed the Illinois Constitution Test that was in

                              to complete this version.

If you passed the Constitution Test in high school, you will need to present to the

they may apply for their Illinois HSE transcript and/or certificate at their local
